Delivery day!!! Everyone asks me what I am doing with the containers. The last thing on their mind is that we are putting these in the trees! What a special idea that only an engineering family along with the help of other engineering friends could come up with and design. We are counting the days of fabrication on the ground before we are ready to crane into the trees. Stay tuned…
FIRE ESCAPE!
Safety is always on our mind during the design and construction. This will be one of the small balconies for use as a fire escape from each of the bedrooms.
WHAT A VIEW!
The shipping containers are turning into a cool house with cuts here and major slashes there, this closed in box is going to have views from every angle and every position!
IT'S DRILLING TIME!
First step in raising anything up in the trees is to drill the holes in the tree for the Ganier Limbs. These bolts will be embedded in the tree 10 inches, and we had the fun of drilling 6 of them in this concrete Bois D Arc tree. For those from Texas, you may have heard of these trees given their special characteristics of not only being very hardy...but when they die, they actually get even harder and never rot above or below water! Such a special tree to hold up this very special treehouse.
